In other news, we're in need of a nickname for our Alpine friend. I have a surprise for the person with the best nickname (it's a contest!) Since Zee Docteur has the most names, maybe he should share.

To get to Tibble Fork, drive east on the American Fork Canyon road. Follow the road past the Timp Cave parking lot. You'll eventually get to a fork in the road. Take the left fork and drive northish until you see a smallish lake and parking lotish. Park by the dam (the dam is BEFORE the parking lot).

Christmas Party - 12/15/07

The first annual crackodawn Christmas Party will be Saturday, December 15 at 7:00. You and your spouse or date are invited. We have decided on Thai Chili Garden located on 800 North in Orem. Due to Cracker's socially religious obligations, we will eat dinner later then go somewhere else for dessert and/or games. If you all do not mind driving all the way to American Fork, that somewhere can be my house. Ms. Mileage has also offered her house.

There was a discussion this morning about organizing something for Thursday (Turkey Day). Radracer and Cracker have a Big Springs Turkey Day tradition. I believe that I will stay in the north end of the county that day (I have to pluck the feathers of the family heirloom turkey and churn my own butter).

If you don't know where the mouth of Provo canyon is (I heard this to be true of the "Long" fellow), drive East on 800 North towards Provo canyon. Just before the highway splits to go up the canyon, you will see a gas station on the left. Take the first left directly after the gas station. There's a parking lot on the right.

Tuesday Tune

I experience a fair amount of boredom on Tuesdays (actually it happens on most days, but Tuesdays are the only days that begin with the "Tuh" sound as opposed to Thursdays and the "Thuh" sound).

2008 Runner Series

To get a guaranteed entry into The George for 2008, you can sign up and join the Runner's Series. Basically, you pay $10 and commit to run two races in the St George area during the fall/winter/spring. If you do that, you can get a guaranteed entry into St George (and thus sideswipe the drama that surrounds the whole "did I get in?" process).

Saturday's Run (9/29/07)

American Fork Hospital, 7:30.

Ms. Mileage has offered to fill her suburban with people on the way. There was a entry-level discussion earlier this morning, but if you wanna ride, I suggest you leave a comment. And oh yeah, there's only 18 seats so it's first come, first serve (look at me try to impress the blogging universe with the size and grandeur of our rogue little ensemble.)

Thursday's Run (9/27/07)

HILLene's house at 5:00, pick up TriaBry and then Rad Racer around 5:15. Ms. Mileage wants 9, but I'll need to be coerced into doing more than 8 (chocolate always works nicely).

Wednesday's Run (9/26/07)

Due to conflicting schedules, it looks like we will have two speed sessions this week. One on Wednesday and one on Thursday.

For Wednesday's run, the plan is to meet at the soccer park at 5:00, run to a high school and crank out some 400's. Some of us are doing a 5k on Saturday and would need the speed on Wednesday as opposed to Thursday.

In regards to the 5k race on Saturday, the race is a Huntsman Cancer Institute fund raiser and is called "Mike's Mad Dash." Mike is the hospital administrator and if you beat him to the finish, you get two movie tickets. They say Mike is athletic but "football player athletic" - whatever that means. The race starts at 9:00am from the American Fork hospital. It's $10 if you register before Saturday, $15 day of. You can register at the American Fork Hospital or call 855-3279 for more info.

For those of you doing a speed workout on Thursday, post a comment in regards to the where and the when and I'll put it up.

No more missed phone calls!

After a year of "we should really get a blog" it has happened. The issue became urgent today because someone (I'm not mentioning any names) forgot to tell another someone that the time for our Saturday run had changed.

Hopefully, we can post where, when and how long we are going to run so that any and all can check it Friday night. This will alleviate the need for that someone to make any more phone calls.

I'm not sure logistically how this is going to happen. I figure that we can give it a shot and see what needs to be changed or improved. Please post your comments so that we can make this a pleasant experience for all.

So... any ideas about Saturday? Or should we start with earlier days in the week?
