Before I forget, Phil and I have signed up for Moab Half on March 8... good tune up for the April races you're all getting ready for! Let's make it a group outing, it will be fun... and it's a nice race. 2 hours into it... but still trying to warm up from our morning run! Cheers!
Or how about making the Ogden 1/2 marathon a group activity. It's a lot closer to our homes! I think that race is the first weekend in April (atleast that's what it was last year), so that would be great timing for Salt Lake or Boston. (Only my opinion, not trying to sound like I know more than I do!! Right, Rabid?!!)
So I was going to go buy Sing Star for the party (karaoke), so do I have people who are going to participate? I am willing if it is a group effort! Otherwise, I can save the game for a Christmas present for my kids!
Per the karaoke thing..I think that my voice will be gone on the 15th! I have to keep a certain amount of respect with my old age!Any 60's through 80's music??
Wow. Several items to address. This might take all afternoon. And isn't it convenient that I'm bored stiff by Lousiana Income Tax Returns!
Oh Moab. I have a love/hate relationship with Moab. I guess it's a quick trip, but Spouse might not be too hip on a running trip EVERY month of the year ('cept FREB-U-ARIE cause that's Ballentines). There's also the fact that only half of us will actually make it into the race. I'm up for that know-it-all Ms Mileage's suggestion of Ogden. We could hit that sky jumping stimulator thing (you know the one that the Paceless Plodder and Wife were talking about the other day.) Now that's fun. Better than hanging out in the desert with a bunch of tree huggin', bike ridin' beer drinkers (but the Moab Brewery does have the best onion rings around...)
In regards to Karaoke... what are the priorities that night. How long will the Mafia game take? Do we want to perform for one another (like we don't already do so on the road?) Maybe the Mileage de Ms could bring forth a spreadsheet with all of the activities. You could give them a weight/number of importance and we can make a decision based on that. Just a thot. And you keep on sounding like you know more than you do. It's called faking it. All of us do it. Right?
I'm real good at "faking it"!! And that brings me to my next point, it's the skydiving sImulator, not sTImulator! Get your mind out of the gutter!
And enough mocking me about the party! I might be obsessed with planning all aspects of my life, but the party can be winged according to everyone's desires! I have no problem with that.
Can I just say, I like our running group a lot. No pressure, no competition, and we can all take a joke! (just a little inside comment/joke!!)
I was asking about Moab, I got to read about "faking it" and stimulators!! Not to mention Hillene's confessions last Saturday... Wow, I really like our group too!! I may just have to do them both; (I'm talking about Moab and Ogden!). I will not even attempt to explain mafia, it would take too long in writing... but needless to say that for a bunch of competitors like ourselves, it will be fun. I'm with triabry, I can sense my voice will be gone by Saturday too! I bet rabidrunner knows a few other fun games we could play. The more we can get everyone involved, the better (although I can't wait to see John1 sing for us). Just kidding John2! Well, happy spinning to all! See you Saturday!
Hey Rabidrunner, next time you get your teeth cleaned, keep Hillene's hand's working on you...I guess there was TALK of a 6:16 pace on Wednesday's run...well, Hillene smoked Rad & I today because of that chat about fast pace on your run. This peer pressure stuff...well, OK, I probably needed the faster pace.
That Hillene lady heard incorrectly. When one has two rubber gloved hands holding sharp objects inside one's mouth, the consonants tend to be muffled. Those oral hygeine people think they can understand hands-in-the-mouth-anese, but there is the tendency to have a 30-40 second degree of error. Or sometimes minutes. Or there's the chance that she heard me correctly, but is buttering me so as I'll come back for more punshment.
I too would be up for running the Ogden 1/2 Marathon in April. I am still debating between running either Salt Lake or Ogden for my spring marathon. I have run Salt Lake a few times but have never run Ogden. Any suggestions from anyone that has run both?
I like Ogden better. More change in elevation and the scenery is pretty too. Last year, the only problem was the heat at the end. By mile 23, it was all I could do to self-talk my way to the finish line. You might as well try it since you've done Salt Lake twice.
Oh, the pain and agony...way too much holiday food in my life right now! Another party and another five pounds gained tonight! Can't wait for spin tomorrow,
That is not true. ms.mileage is trying to take the attention away her announcement of twins. She was hoping to make the announcement at the St. George marathon, one month before the due date.

i just love you all
I don't know about anyone one else, but I wouldn't want to skyjump onto a stimulator, that really seems like it would hurt.
So what is this Mafia game? I suppose I could look it up on the ole intrey-net, but then it wouldn't be as fun as hearing you all try to describe it.
And little Ms. Mileage, don't start doubting yourself, you do know everything.

The Ogden 1/2 (the one in the Winter Trainig Circuit - not to be confused with the full Marathon in May) is April 4th. Here's the info...
