A few of us talked about having an adult Christmas party (o.k. not that kind of "adult" party!) at Thai Chili Garden. Spouses included. So we need to start figuring out a day that would work. Look at your schedules and put on the blog dates that would NOT work for you, and then hopefully we can come up with a day and time that would work for most if not all of us.

I probably have the least open schedule out of everyone. I work every Wednesday night through Friday night and every other Saturday (including today). I also already have something going on Dec 3rd. Other than that I'm open for anything! Sounds like a great time, it would be fun to see what you all are like outside of running shoes. Well, time to get ready for work. Hopefully my heels feel better for Monday! Stupid heels.

I'm going to throw a date out there for everyone-Dec. 15th? It's a Saturday. How would that work for everyone?

The 15th is currently open for me.

Also, it's HILLene's birthday today... so Happy Birthday!

That sounds perfect. Happy birthday HILLene!!!

Also, how does everybody like their Garmins, how much did you pay, and is it worth it?

I love my Garmin and Hillene just said today that the 305(heart rate monitor version) is on sale at Costco for $179. That's a really good deal.

Here is a link to a $50 rebate for a Forerunner 305. It needs to have been purchased between June
1st and Nov 30th. You also need to sign up for a Powerbar newsletter, but that seems to be free.

Here is the coupon too, but I don't know if this will work without signing up for the newsletter.

Who is this slowman? Once there was a slowman, slowman, slowman. Once there was a slowman, tall, tall, TALL! I won't finish.

Can the rebate be used when purchasing at Costco? That would make it $129! Maybe I should purchase a backup (even though I already have a backup - a backup for my backup). I can't run without it now.

My garmin addiction is similar to that of Ms Mileage's mileage addiction.

I appreciate all the response about the Garmin. I saw the sale at Costco, but decided that since I already own a Polar 625 I'd start using it again. Trouble is I had to order a new footpod, since mine seems to have disappeared.

BTW, My heels are feeling a lot better. I bought some ankle compression socks and new shoe inserts. Hopefully I'll be able to keep the problem from flaring up again.

I've used Garmin rebates before, I think it should work with the Costco deal (I hope so, I just bought it earlier today-so happy to find a rebate too!) and Garmin wouldn't know if you did the survey or not, it's the same coupon. Gonna try it.

I just purchased the 305 from Costco (thanks for the tip HILLene and rebate info slowman). I have had my Garmin 201 for the last 3 years and have used it on every run, love it, but I am excited to upgrade to the new slimmer model with a heart rate moniter.

The 15th is open for us, as our previous engagement for the 15th just moved to the 8th.

You're lucky your previous engagement moved itself! I would have demanded that you drop/move your previous engagement. I can be demanding you know (but then you already knew that.)

Very lucky that the engagement moved itself, since mrs. radracer was the instigator and host.
