I just wrote this in an email to my running family -
"I just want you all to know that I really, really dislike the no carb diet, however it came to me today that the greatest benefit, may not be the glucose increase, be rather in the mastery of the body. It is really a case of saying to the body no you can’t have that piece of bread or that piece of cake or that brownie. It is a bit like fasting. It is mind over body. So I think that is the real strength of the no-carb diet."
But just remember that I still do not like it! I was going to invite the use of my home for the party, but I think the park is a good idea for the youngsters.
Rapid - I hope you bring some of your bread - I remember it from last year. You all look so different in street clothes! I hope to be able to make it - thanks for the planning.
A point of clarification - the reason that I went on about "mind over body", is because that is the way it always ends up at every marathon - you just get to the point where the mind needs to tell that body to do...
Your wish is my command... bread will be there.
I agree with you on the "mind over matter" part. Here's how I see it: Mastering the no carb thing makes the marathon seem easy.
Thanks for putting this together. See you there.
Is this a all food group meal or just a down the bread type meal? Not sure what to bring?
I will be there with family. I'm looking forward to the bread if for no other reason than to see if mine has been turning out appropriately.
I believe that any item from any "food group" is okay. Except western family olives. We've all agreed that those are not acceptable.
