Saturday (9.4.1) Hope to Hobble

The plan is Hope Campground to Hobble Creek Golf Course (24 miles).  I think we threw around the prospect of meeting at the mouth of Provo canyon at 5:30.  Let's discuss details, shall we?  Some are talking about starting at Hope Campground and doing an out and back.  The Twin Towers (aka Lewis and Clark) have generously offered some vehicle droppings in Hobble Creek canyon.  But we'll need a count of who's planning to go and whatnot so that we can plan accordingly.

I'll drop off water, chocolate milk, and pretzels at:
--the lookout (4 or 5 miles in)
--after the down and around before the start up the long hill (7 or 8 miles)
--at the top before the drop down to hobble creek (12 miles)
--Somewhere around 16/17 miles
--where dirt turns to pavement (21 miles)

Right now I'm planning on a gallon of water and a gallon of chocolate milk at each drop.

Each drop will marked. There will be a garbage bag to put trash in.

I am planning on going. The total distance on my garmin last week was 22.5 miles. Brystler some wonderful hunter was kind enough to steal the gallon of water that was located at 16. So maybe put the ones on the second half not close to where they can park their trucks. Or hide it somehow.

Todd and I are planning on it. As was mentioned we are willing to have cars on the Hobble Creek side if that's what you want to do. If anyone needs to call or text me to work out details feel free.

I'm planning on Hope to Hope for a total of 24. I have travel and family things on Saturday that I need to be back for. I can drive from the mouth of the canyon to Hope, which leaves one less vehicle to be picked up later. I can take 3 or 4 people with me depending on which car I bring.

Water, chocolate milk, pretzels, and cups are on the trail. As Hammerman suggested they are set back off the trail in the bushes. When you see the Yellow Caution tape, look on the opposite side of the road in the bushes. The last one is on the right a couple feet past the cattle guard right before the paved road. Please put plastic cups and trash in the trash bag attached to the Water jug. I will drive the trail after and pick up the trash bags with our trash. Best as I can remember:

--3.3 to 3.5 miles 30 feet before the lookout (on right side)
--7 to 7.5 miles after winding back and forth through the trees you see about 100 yards of straight dirt road (at the end of the straight section on the left).
--11 miles at the top (on the left)
--15 miles on a U curve (on the left)
--20 miles on the right after the last cattle guard (100 feet before the pavement)

Drops are at water drops that have been used before with the exception of the 7 to 7.5 mile drop.

wow, Brystler, you are nice!!!! thank you for doing that! I have always done Hope to Hope so i'm thinking i will do Hope to Hobble this year. We should try to put everyone in cars of those doing Hope to Hope so those who are taking us back from Hobble just have to go to the Mouth. see y'all at 5:30!

I'm planning on doing Hope to Hobble, as long as my hamstring feels better in the morning.

Do we have enough rides for every one? How many seats do we have in the cars at the Hobble side.

Right now we have enough for 11 people from the golf course back to Orem. If we need more then 11 we have it we just need to let somebody know but we don't want them to have to commit unless we have to. So far it sounds like 11 is going to be enough.
